FAQ

Will you be providing transportation?

Fox Hollow guests will have transportation to and from the rehearsal dinner at Bayberry. The bus will arrive at the hotel at 6pm and leave at 6:10pm. There will not be another bus ride and the bus will not wait for stragglers.

Fox Hollow guests will also have transportation to and from the wedding at the Mansion at Oyster Bay. The bus will arrive at the hotel at 5:30pm and leave at 5:40pm. The bus will return for stragglers, but you might not make it to cocktail hour so don't be late!

What should I expect when I arrive at the wedding?

Our wedding will involve Jewish traditions you may not be familiar with. To start, Nathan and I will host separate welcome receptions during the cocktail hour before the ceremony. All guests are welcome and encouraged to attend both.

Nathan will host a Tisch (Yiddish for “table”), during which he will try to give a speech as his guests interrupt him with loud singing and toasts.

Emily will host a Kabbalat Panim (Hebrew for “receiving faces”), during which she sits in a throne-like chair and accepts blessings and well-wishes. This will be her opportunity to greet each guest individually.

Around 7pm, guests will sing Od Yeshama and lead Nathan to Emily for the Bedeken (Yiddish for "veiling"). Nathan will place a veil over Emily's face. Finally, guests will escort Nathan to the ceremony.

What's there to do in the area?

If you're at the Fox Hollow, the outdoor pool is open 8am-8pm. Check out our list of recommendations for lunch spots, activities, and salons here.

What's the schedule of events?

On Saturday, 8/24, we'll have our rehearsal dinner at Bayberry from 7pm to 10pm. It'll be a chance to get to know everyone and start gearing up for the main event.

On Sunday, 8/25, we'll be at The Mansion at Oyster Bay for the main event. Cocktail hour will start at 6pm, and the ceremony will start around 7pm. Please don't be late, as we won't allow anyone into the ceremony space once we've started. Dinner and dancing will follow.

On Monday, 8/26, we'll head down to the complimentary breakfast buffet at the hotel so we have a chance to say goodbye to everyone before they head out. If you sleep in, you'll probably find us by the pool.

Do you have a registry?

We're so grateful to everyone who has asked about our registry. Check it out at Zola.

What's the dress code?

Black Tie Optional. Women typically wear floor-length gowns and men typically wear either formal suits or tuxedos.
